Apart from the uppermost decks which are dedicated to cabins, accommodations are separated from the ”more noisy” part of the ship, the public rooms. Cabins by the way are rather small as RCCL (like on its other ships) emphasize that public rooms deserve more space than cabins as these are mainly used for sleeping…. In all cabins, twin beds can be converted to queen-size, but not many passengers ask their steward for this arrangement, because one forgoes the use of the cabins as a sitting room by day-time. Cabins are comfortable and are done in light colours which makes them look somewhat larger.

On Majesty of the Seas public rooms are outstanding. Midships the Centrum, a five deck atrium is located. The focal point of the ship, stairs as well as glass elevators connect all levels (unlike e.g. on Carnival ships where there are no stairs) and ensure an excellent passenger flow. The 2 deck high A Chorus Line Showroom aft offers good sight lines for watching Las Vegas like shows. It seats 1050 and is often filled to capacity. A second somewhat smaller show lounge is the Paint Your Wagon Lounge. It has a circular shape, and because of this it makes the impression of being much smaller. Majesty of the Seas´ two dining rooms must be able to accommodate all passengers (over 2700 when filled to capacity) in two seatings. As a consequence these are high density dining rooms. The Mikado dining room seats 706 and the Maytime dining room 666. The Maytime dining room -although done in a fresh attractive color scheme- is rather plain, the Mikado features oriental décor giving it a classic touch. Maytime dinning room, Main deck There are plenty of bars and small lounges available: a trademark of NCL, the Schooner Bar, midships on the port side decorated with a nautical theme, next to the large Casino Royale (after all this is an American ship....), the On Your Toes night club seating 350, and finally the small Touch of Class Champagne Bar make the array of public rooms on the Majesty complete. We must not forget to mention the classic library, very well stocked by Ocean Books, a British firm well known for running the library of the famous QE2. On top, wrapped around the funnel, the Viking Crown Lounge, offers spectacular views, not only at sea, but in port as well. When the ship is docked one seas tiny cars and people ¨deep down¨ showing the enormous height of the ship.
RCI' s trademark: Viking Crown Lounge In 2001 we made a short 5-day cruise with Majesty of the Seas to the Bahama’s and Key West. At the time we were pleasantly surprised that – although there were over two and a half thousand passengers aboard at the time, there were no waiting lines of any significance, not for disembarkation in port, not in the two level self service restaurant the Windjammer Café (seating 900!), absolutely nowhere. We also appreceated the possibilities of escaping the crowd like this is possible for example in the forward part of the Windjammer Café, an enclosed part where we could eat buffet style in quiet comfortable surroundings (and airco…..), as well as in the many small bars and lounges the Majesty of the Seas offers. Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport 28 day overhaul third ship after sisters m2003 s2004 -focused Fuel Nightclub and Living Room lounge were added. $36 million. And on my recent preview cruise to check out
the new Majesty, it appears that the money was well spent. There's a definite
"wow" factor here -- with particular highlights including its wonderful new spa
and fitness center, three new casual dining venues, completely redesigned teen
facilities that are exclusive to the 12 - 17 year old set, and a re-arranged and
refurbished pool deck. Other major changes took place in cabins -- with new
carpets and bedding and the addition of flat-screen televisions. The Viking
Crown Lounge got a whole new look and so did the shops in the Centrum.
On
January 12,
2007,
Majesty of the Seas entered a 4-week dry-dock period
where she endured a multi-million dollar refurbishment of the
pool decks, all public areas, restaurants, shops, centrums, and
cabins. Additions include Johnny Rockets, The Compass Deli,
Seattle's Best Coffee, Freeze ice cream, cabins, Boleros (Latin
night club), and other
Royal Caribbean Amenities.
